On 15 November 2020, the Australian citizenship test was updated. This considered one of the major updates to the test in over a decade. The updated test includes revised citizenship test questions and new test questions on Australian values.
To prepare for the citizenship test refer to the citizenship test resource booklet Australian Citizenship Our Common Bond
As the book notes, Australian values based on freedom, respect, fairness and equality of opportunity are central to our community remaining a secure, prosperous and peaceful place to live.
Our values define and shape our country and they are a reason why so many people want to become Australian citizens. Australian citizenship is about living out these values in your everyday life and in your local community. It is therefore very important that you understand the values that all Australian people are expected to respect, share and uphold”
All 5 questions on Australian values (Part 4) of our Australian Citizenship Our Common Bond) must be answered correctly, with a mark of at least 75 per cent overall to pass the test.
