Department of Home Affairs will increase Credit Card and PayPal Surcharges

Department of Home Affairs Legislation Amendment Regulations 2020 (Credit Card and PayPal Surcharge)
This Instrument increases the surcharge applied to Visa and MasterCard credit cards, and PayPal payments for Department of Home Affairs fees and charges, including visa application charges, nomination and sponsorship fees, citizenship-related fees and customs duties, and taxes.
The surcharge amounts will be increased to:
Visa and MasterCard credit cards – 1.4%
PayPal – 1.01%
Other credit cards – remain at 1.4%
This Instrument will commence on 1 July 2020.
