Legislative Instrument – F2018L00359 – IMMI 18/009: Credentialled Community Language Qualifications) Instrument 2018. This Instrument is required due to changes in the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) certification scheme. This Instrument revokes IMMI 12/020, but only applies to any applicant who had not received a credentailled community language qualification issued by NAATI prior to commencement of this Instrument. The Instrument specifies NAATI as a credentialled community language body and three certification levels which meet the standard for eligibility for the credentialled community language points. The specified standard for Interpreting and Translating for the purposes of Schedule 6D91(b) is one of the following:
(a)accreditation at the paraprofessional level or above;
(b)certification at the certified provisional level or above; or
(c)a community language credential
This Instrument commences on 26 March 2018.
